The System 597: They Grow Up So Fast

I feel a little bad about this one. Maybe I should consult a physician.
Oh, and this coming weekend I’ll be traveling with the Super Art Fight gang to Connecticon in Hartford, CT! If you’re going, be sure to come find my table and say hello. I’ll have parts of the HilariAwesome.com store and custom prints of comics and things. It’ll be fun!
The System 504: Lil’ Comics

Another lil’ comic. I kinda like these, it’s an even more limiting format. You?
Guest Comic: @DoGudSnd

UPDATE: Apologies for the wrong comic appearing, and an old one from the archive at that! Here’s the comic that was SUPPOSED to show up, thanks again to @DoGudSnd (Mike) for sending it in!
Thanks @DoGudSnd for sending this one in!
I’m out of town through June 9th, and thanks to Twitter have guest comics to help keep you all occupied! Hope you enjoy them, and expect a fresh new comic as well as a big 500th surprise upon my return after June 10th. Also, all new HilariAwesome.com orders will not ship out until my return, be aware if you’re planning on ordering. See you all soon! -Rosscott

The System 498: Infinibox

I was going for a kind of “Ouroboros of inboxes” vibe with that third panel. Pretty happy with it actually!
For those feeling like they can relate, check out this other comic I did about Sisyphus. Or, for that matter, this one on THE EMAIL PROCESS. What can I say, I have an Existentialist streak in me sometimes, though lately I’m thinking Stoicism is more my jazz. Funny since I don’t know how many Stoics would really go to a Coltrane show…
So in other news, I’m going out of town! For the next two weeks, I will be out of the country visiting the UK. While I’m not going to any sort of desolate lands (except Wales) you can expect little to no interaction from me in the meantime. That doesn’t mean the site won’t be updating, as some very kind people have provided guest comics via a last-minute plea on The Twitters. I hope you enjoy them, but if you do or don’t, you can expect more comics from Rosscott as well as the epic 500th comic upon my return on June 9th (though per our update schedule, June 10th).
And while this might not be clear, ALL HILARIAWESOME.COM ORDERS BETWEEN NOW AND JUNE 9th WILL NOT SHIP OR BE PROCESSED UNTIL MY RETURN. Feel free to order, but be aware that I can’t ship things while I’m gone, and this is, for the moment, a one-man operation.
The System 432: Terms of Labor

Thanks to you Systemics who helped make the last comic onto The Daily What, it’s much appreciated! And while I’m at it, greetings, Daily What readers.

The System 431: Pirate Juice

Today’s comic was inspired by the most recent Nedroid comic, which parodies The New Yorker style of image / caption cartooning. A bit silly, but I thought it had some nice subtlely.
For those who wonder how a joke comes together, here’s the train of thought behind today’s comic:
Hmm, what should this comic be about? I said I’d do a caption style. I guess I should go read some New Yorker cartoons. Okay, there goes an hour. Now what about this comic? Do I have any notes written down? “Pirate juice”, what was that supposed to be? Oh yeah! This could be funny…
*10 minutes of Illustrator time later*
What exactly should the line be? Should it be that the doctor is lecturing the patient or apologizing to him? I think it works better as the doctor apologizing, like he didn’t know any better. I can do that just by writing “sorry” at the front. Nice. Aaaand Marty thinks this is funny. Okay, time to post! I guess I’ll mention how I came up with this in the writeup. Maybe people will read that.

The System: Future World Problems – Robopet Maintenance

This is the last of a series of comics by my fellow webcomic creators and the creme de la creme of visual entries to the FutureWorldProblems contest I mentioned the other day. If you like this charming entry, check out the original post with FutureWorldProblems here, or the first comic on the subject here.
Today’s comic is by Bill “All New Issues” Ellis. I caught a link to Bill’s stuff through Girls With Slingshots a couple months back, and have been reading ever since. All New Issues is the tale of comic book collectors, drinkers, and graphic designers. You can see why I might be on board with such a comic.
I had the pleasure of meeting Bill (and seeing his cohort Danielle again) at Wild Pig Con 1 a couple months back and see them again at WPC2 a couple weeks ago. While their comic is only 40 pages in, it is off to a great start. Be sure to check it out here.
Tomorrow we go back to the normal insanity that is The System drawn by myself, though I admit I’m going to miss the #FutureWorldProblems posts. Have you been enjoying the guest time? Found any new comics to like? Like all the #FutureWorldProblems jokes? I’m listening, so post your thoughts in the comments.
