I sprung for the 4th panel on this one. I think you can see why.

Jason Statham has never been in a great movie. He’s also never been in a boring one. Statham’s imdb.com profile, collectively, is a promise to you, the weary filmgoer. It’s a promise that says, “I promise that you will not FOR ONE SECOND be bored during one of my movies. You won’t learn shit about the human condition, or feel a collective connection with the brotherhood of man. But if you give me $10, I will f*** an explosion while a Slayer song plays”.
Thanks Marty, for posting a great article. Go read it. PATTON+STATHAM 4EVA at Blast-O-Rama

B-Movie Titles
Via BoingBoing.
Mr. Bali Hai has compiled a fair-sized gallery of B-movie opening titles. I’ve seen a few of these movies, and it’s probably safe to say that the titles are the best parts.
Some “great” typography in there, not to mention some hilarious titles. This is all the pics of the title sequences. Link.

Watchmen Movie Headed for Trouble
As Systemic TheMonkey pointed out in the comments for today’s post, The Watchmen movie is in trouble once again. After years of limbo with rights, the movie finally did get greenlit and by this point hopefully is in post production. However, it seems that Fox and Warner Bros. aren’t done struggling over things.
A Los Angeles federal judge has ruled that 20th Century Fox owns the distribution rights to “Watchmen,” representing a setback for Warner Bros.’ plans to release the pic in March.
Unclear what the results of this judgement will be, but rest assured it does not bode well for fans. Thanks for the link, MonkeyBoy! Link.

9 Looks Amazing
Based on the short animation “9”, this upcoming film (also called “9”) looks amazing. It has names connected like Crispin Glover, Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Tim Burton, John C. Reilly and a ton more. I can’t embed the trailer, but go check it out. Link.
Also, here’s a youtube vid of the original animated short, and here’s the creator’s website.
(NOTE: I dusted off the “awesomeness” tag for this post. Yeah, that’s right.)

Jon Hamm, Sci-Fi Geek!
“Yeah, big time!” he said. “I grew up in the ’70s and ’80s so I had Star Wars, and Close Encounters, and Blade Runner and 2001. It was an awesome time for sci-fi.” When Mr. Hamm was asked if he still does anything geeky, his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, rolled her eyes and affectionately nodded yes. “Oh yeah, I’m a big comic book guy and–” “Video games, video games, video games!” exclaimed Ms. Westfedt.

Dead Snow Trailer
I love it when a zombie movie looks like a bit of fun. And who doesn’t love nazi villains? They are one of the last great “totally allowed to hate them” villains. Link.
