While “carpe diem” is normally translated as “sieze the day”, this is actually not an accurate translation. “Carpe” is better translated as “to pick, pluck, pluck off, cull, crop, gather”, so it would be a better (though less catchy) definition to say “Pluck the day”. Of all the possible days you could pick for the day you might have, try to choose the best one you can. Or, in this case, do your best being careful with picking your gadgets.

True story, the DC Metro app I use to tell me when the next train is coming decided to update itself off of usage on my iPhone 3G. I posted about this on Twitter, and my clever friends began the app pun war. Thanks to Ananth, Caldwell, Hatton, Dern and Brandon for the chatter and ideas that inspired this comic.

A follow-up to “Dumb Phones”, what happened to my iPod and “Rosscott’s Law”.

Also, some unfortunate news, not sure about the update schedule for the next couple of days. Life is pretty swamped, so I may have to miss some updates. Fair warning, but I’ll try and keep you up to date through this post and new posts on the site.

This is another true story (minus the miniature deer).

You ever revel in being weird? Where? When? My long history of being weird dates back to being a huge Gonzo (of the Muppets) fan. It was even the basis for my college essay, which I guess turned out well enough. It did get me into college and all.
