Katsucon Goers – Little Help?
A friend of a friend (hell, let’s just call her a Systemic) has contacted me about needing some volunteers for Katsucon. I will be in attendance at Katsu as I have the last few years, as will many of the local east coast webcomickers (including AFHS, Erfworld, Comedity / Finders Keepers, Onezumi, Dear Pirate, Panic!, FG and many more). They need help staffing, so please consider this and spread the word to others who might be interested.
So, here’s my plight: I’m in charge of the Charity Auction for Katsucon. Every year, we gather donations of goods from the vendors and attendees at the convention, and then auction them off, giving all proceeds to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. So far, I’ve got a staff of two, including myself, which really isn’t enough to manage, and I need to get a staff list in by Friday morning. I’m looking for two or three trustworthy, hard-working individuals who’d like passes to Katsucon, meals, lodgings at the hotel (shared, I’m afraid), and the chance to work for a good cause. Duties include (but are not limited to) collecting and cataloguing donations from vendors, guests, and attendees, collecting signatures from guests and artists, and helping set up and run the auction on Sunday morning. The convention runs from February 13 – 15th, 2009. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
