Greetings cyclists!
I’m a big fan of Yehuda Moon and the Kickstand Cyclery. Today’s comic, I couldn’t help but comment with a link to one of my biking comics that seemed on topic. That trickled to a bike forum and, well, here some of you are. Thanks for coming! Here’s a few of the bike comics I’ve done so far:

To answer a question I saw on the forums, yeah I’m a biker. I bike to and from work daily. It’s only 3 miles, but it’s still kinda hilly and even if it isn’t a lot, I love it. Feel free to share those around!

Help a brotha out!
Fellow webcomicker and all-around-nice-guy Joe Dunn (and Phillip Chan, and Irvsher Fabor) have a new project, and it needs your help. Their new comic is up for voting at Platinum Studios.
From Joe:
We’re still really proud of the vampire/werewolf/zombie story with the guy that cures people when he gets bitten, but unfortunately the current stage of the competition is based on Internet votes, so it has become a contest not of how good your story is, but of how many friends you have that are willing to click a vote button all day.
This does not bode well for us as A) we’re terrible at marketing our products and B) I hate to bother people. Seriously. If people take time out of their day to read my crappy comics then I owe them something, not the other way around. I always feel really awkward asking for help. But if you like the idea please vote. As many times as you can. Bless your hearts.
Well, you heard the man. Go vote for him as much as you can!

Growing in Awesomeness
My great friend Jami of Angry Zen Master has done me the honor of another great writeup.
My good friend Ross Nover returns to the webcomic world with The System! Ross uses those universal sign graphics as a framework for his unique brand of the funny. I think it’s bloody brilliant and I’m sure he’ll go far. When he’s standing up at his Comic Con panel some day next to those other guys, I will sniff back tears of pride and say to myself, I knew him when we were part of the Washington Webtoonists.
Congrats Ross! The System rocks the hardcore!!
I remember when Jami used to do a small little comic that seemed stuck in a wrestling match for 6 months. There may have been boobs? It was a long time ago. Thanks so much, Jami! Link.

Greetings ComixTalk Fans!
Thank you to ComixTalk for another great link.
JUSTIFY MY HYPE
FLEEN approvingly points to The System, an unusual comic using a limited set of icons (like the men’s room symbol!) for imagery. It is definitely worth a read.
They are now eligible for a copy of our home game!

The Gauntlet Has Been Thrown Down
The wonderful gentlemen over at Fleen have been nice enough to cover this wonderful endeavor today:
In other news, new webstrip The System is doing some interesting stuff with a highly restricted visual vocabulary — it’s done entirely in the icons that make up informational/warning signs. As a platform for pure writing, it’s half a notch below Dinosaur Comics, but weirdly enough what it really reminds me of is a Lolcat.
Those things have a syntax and grammar all their own, and so do sign icons … you can’t just slap ‘em up there and have it automatically work. We at Fleen will be keeping our eye on The System and seeing how long creator “Rosscott” can keep up this very precise exercise.
I read Fleen daily and, let’s be honest, I contacted them to cover it. Still, they don’t think I can keep up this “very precise exercise”. I BEG TO DIFFER. I will take their challenge! I WILL SHOW THEM ALL. What do you think, 3 months? More? How much until I’ve proven my point? One thing is certain. I will soon be demanding Gary’s famous moustache on a silver platter!
Gary, thank you for the post. Hope you keep reading, and consider yourself link-loved.

So far, so good!
For those of you that are new and wondering what the deal is, I recommend checking out what Bryan had to say. It makes me sound like even more of a genius than I really am, which is saying something. High praise considering he started it off with “Ok, so this looks really boring…”
Thank you to all of my comics friends who have helped this new site really take off so quickly. Marty, James (I’m waiting…), Dern, Bryan, Brian, and Nick, you guys have really helped me get this thing going and get me even more excited about it. Thanks!

Up to Eleven
As I was perusing the internet today, I spotted an interesting link about the original Doctor Who music (thanks, kottke.org!). What do I see on the page but a media player. At first, it was of little interest to me. Then I started rocking out to the music it was playing. Soon I wanted to rock out more, because the volume was only at a 9. What do I find? You can turn the volume not just to 10, but all the way up to 11. That’s right, it goes up to 11. For those times when 10 just isn’t enough.
