Hey all. I know updates have been a little lax the last few weeks, and unfortunately they are going to be that way a bit longer. I would much rather have slower comics than bad ones.  Meantime, please stay tuned!  Remember, you can always keep up to date with the RSS feed, on Twitter, or I normally post about updates on my twitter account (as well as anything I find on the interwebs).  Thanks, Systemics!

Today’s comic (Wednesday’s) will be up later today, around 10pm.  Sorry for those looking forward to it, it’s been a bumpy week. Friday should be in good shape (and it’s my birthday).

The System 300: Emo Filter

Happy 300!

I know in the past I’ve done big recap comics for The System 100 and The System 200.  Expect that tradition to continue, but I couldn’t do it in time for today*.  It’ll just have to be posted under another number.  Still, thank you all to each of you who reads the comic.  I like to look at the numbers and stats (some would say too much) and think about how that is individual people enjoying commiserating with what is going on here.  If anyone has any suggestions for comics from the last 100 that need to be “called out” in the big recap comic, let me know in the comments of this post.

By the way, did you know you can buy prints of this or any other comic?  Check out the new online store for that and all things The System, Hilariawesome.com. Find Jimmy the Murderdog, comic prints, bike sniper shirts, and even HELL Vetica.

In the meantime, thanks again, Systemics.  It’s been a year and a half of awesome, and I can’t wait to take it further.

*Btw, thanks to Systemic @AngelicHapa who suggested I use this old tweet as inspiration for today’s comic. Thanks for following me on Twitter, and for the idea!

Up on the site is Jimmy the Murderdog, HELLVetica, a new Biking Shooter shirt in PREORDER (after many requests), and finally big beautiful prints of every comic in the archive.  As it mentions, the site is still in BETA so please help me test it out, find the problems, and make it an amazing experience for you and everyone else. Three pieces of good news, Systemics!

1.  Ben of Three Panel Opera has interviewed me for a series called “Questions for Artists Who Are Awesome”. Since I embody both artist-ness and awesomeness, it makes for a good read. Go read it now, and while you’re at it read his comic. It’s about kids and their odd imaginary friends that won’t go away.

2.  Go binge our archive. Have you ever felt that seeing almost 300 comics in the archive is just too much to deal with? Have you ever wished there was a better way to dig through that huge archive? Well the wonderful folk at Archive Binge have made it possible to set up a custom RSS feed that lets you start at the beginning, set a pace, and read the entire archive of some of your favorite webcomics. There are some huge* comics like Goats, XKCD, Wondermark, and of course myself. So click on over and sign up.

*Huge in your hearts, not in readership.

3. There is now a Comic Archive page to this here website. Click on over and see all the comics you want, now easily navigatable in some sort of chronological-type order.

As a reminder, no comic for today (Tuesday, August 25th).  As mentioned in this comic post, the comic will be updating on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until further notice.  The extra time is going to be spent toward other System-related things, such as the site redesign, online store, and first book of The System comics.

As for missing out on your daily System fix, try to get amnesia on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and pretend that you haven’t read Monday or Wednesday’s comic yet.  We’ll also be posting back up more System in the Wild posts, so that should help fill the gap.

The System 267

Turns out you have to water them too.

SITE UPDATE: Starting today I’ll be resuming my post as an adjunct professor of graphic design for the semester.  I only mention because due to the extended workload, I am going to be cutting the strip down to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the forseeable future.  I know, many of you enjoy having The System be a daily part of your lives, and I truly appreciate that.  This time isn’t being lost, it is actually going to go into other things that make this website run.  Having time to work on the online store, the first book collection, and a redesign of the site.  So all those days the comic doesn’t update, know that I’m still at my computer working hard for what we’ve built together, even if you aren’t seeing the results right away.

Next comic on Wednesday, all.  Thanks as always for tuning in.

There is now a “Random Comic” button to help you navigate through the comics on the site.  It stays with the other text navigation below the comic at all times.  It’s pretty fun and awesome.  Check it out!

I’m off to Connecticon this weekend as a guest.  I’ll be hanging in Webcomic Alley with the rest of the webcomics crew.  If you’re in the Hartford, CT area, drop on by the table!  If you know you’re going to be there, leave me a comment on the post.  It’s nice to put screen names with faces.

We’re having TWO big Super Art Fight shows at Connecticon on Saturday, with some new art fighters!  Details are on the SAF site here.

I’m going to try to get up a comic for Friday while I’m gone but if it doesn’t show up, content will begin flowing again on Monday.  Remember, you have until Sunday night to enter the Jimmy The Murderdog Fan Art Contest!

If you just can’t live without me, I’ll probably be posting from my Twitter account a good bit.
