The Noun Project
First off, thanks to the 10 or so Systemcics that sent me info about The Noun Project. Thanks to you guys I contacted the creators and I’m trying to work with them, and have provided them with many of the files I use to create the comics you see here each week.
But what is it? The Noun Project seeks to collect, organize and add highly recognize symbols that form the world’s visual language. All of the symbols (of which there are hundreds) are free, simple, and easy to download and use as needed. It’s a great resource for visual designers and the less gifted alike, not to mention fun to peruse. They put together a Kickstarter for it, and here’s more in a video:
Design geek-out for a moment, all of their symbols are available for download in vector format, so you can go nuts creating anything you want with them. Hell, you can even create some System comics! Though if you do, send them my way.
