I stole that grumble from Charlie Brown.

I Did A Thing For College Humor

I did a series of comics for College Humor that went up last week all about “Highlights Magazine: College Edition”. It’s got all the classic sections, “Check…and Double Check”, “Goofus and Galant”, “The Timbertoes”, “Hidden Pictures”, and even “Your Own Pictures”. Check it out by clicking here or the image below:

Some Advice for Graphic Designers

Also, wrote up a blog post last night, some advice for graphic designers based on Frank Chimero’s post that I happened to read. You can check out the original here and my own advice here.

The System 610: More of Everything

It’s true. More cyclists means more of every type of cyclists, including assholes that use bike lanes to go the wrong way on one-way roads. I unfortunately see this all the time.

Of course, it turns out that most cyclists aren’t assholes, it’s mostly cognitive bias that makes people think that. But as George Carlin once said about children, “Kids are like any other group of people: a few winners…a whole lot of losers.”

Any time bikes + design + pretty things shows up, I have to share it. It’s like some sort of weird rule of my life. This was made by STUDENTS (I’m jealous).

The System 572: Bump

When you’re on a bike, you can weave through traffic (carefully), but you also have to be extra careful of every little crack and bump in the road. Sometimes transitioning to other modes of transportation can be… difficult.

I love this song and music video all about biking. It shows all the different types of bikers (we’re not ALL hipster fixie douchebags) and does a nice job of parodying many of the stereotypes, while still being generally positive overall. The song is called Motherf*king Bike by Sons of Science. Their site is http://www.motherfuckingbike.com/.

You can even download the song here!

Found from Kottke.org (which I probably check more than any other website), here’s a great video about bicycles and how they stay up while moving when NOBODY IS ON THEM. Physics + Bikes = Fun and Awesome!
