We here at Rosscott, Inc. are not above asking for your money.  We would, however, like to give you something in return for it.  I am putting together some merch for the upcoming con season, and am taking requests on items.  Consider this an open thread to let me know what you’re interested in.  I will be monitoring this thread and will be glad to answer questions as they arise as well.

A quick note:  I have added Google Adsense to the right-hand sidebar, as well as Project Wonderful advertising between the comic posts and whatever comes after them.  Let’s face it, the Google Ads are just to see what happens, but the PW ads are with the hope that interesting people actually use them and then other interesting people actually click on them.

If you’re a webcomic artist or otherwise website owner looking to get some exposure (heh), check it out on Project Wonderful.  If it’s a real website and not utter crap or offensive as hell, I’ll let it by.  As of right now, the price is wavering between free and $0.01, so I bet it’s in your price range.

If you are one of those people who feels that these small advertisements clutter up the wonderful, exciting content you’ve come to expect from this site, I encourage you to send me $20, at which point I’ll take down the ads for a month.

Sadly, it is in fact the hard drive.  After Sparky Malarky, my 15″ Powerbook G4 with 1.67Ghz and 1GB of RAM has breathed his last breaths.  Thankfully, the folks at the Apple Store are currently transferring over everything they can to Sparky Mark II.  I didn’t want to have to do all of this today, but at least I’m getting what I need.

BUT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?

It means that The System, and this blog, will be back up and running on Monday.  Thank you kindly for all of your patience, Systemics.  If you feel really bad about the whole thing, I’ll be setting up the store soon.

-Rosscott

Still not looking good for the computer, but we’ll find out for sure tomorrow.  Either way, no The System comics have been lost, and we should be up and running in some format by Monday.  In the meantime, DONT LEAVE ME!

Bad news, Systemics.  The main computer that runs Rosscott, Inc. has taken a turn for the worse.  It seems like a failed hard drive issue, but until I get it into the shop I won’t know for sure.  Meanwhile, the comic and blog may see a more sporadic update schedule.  I will be sure to update the site as soon as I know more.

If any of you are artists that would like to contribute guest work to help fill in the gaps, please contact me via email (systemcomic at gmail dot com).

Let me start by answering the question that is on the minds of lots of you bikers out there.  Yes, I’m a cyclist.  I have a Univega touring bike that used to be my Dad’s, and I’ve been biking to and from work and around town (DC) for the better part of a year.  I tried it for a bit last year, then got hit by a taxi and gave it up for a bit (not from injury).

I mention this because a few biking sites have been finding the many bike-related comics that are on the site.  How many sites?

I appreciate it, and I’ll be sure to keep the biking comics up as I think of them.  They are all tagged accordingly with “bikes”, so you can always look on the site for those.  Otherwise, the rest of the comics are funny too, so keep coming back.  Thanks again, all.

The System 100

There you have it, Systemics.  100 comics down.  It’s been a long ride, full of ups and downs, but we have managed to find a path.  A path that I could not be happier to be a part of.  I hope you guys stick with me as we continue down it.

Some of you guys are probably noticing some changes around the site.  An updated look, some new WP plugins to help smooth things out (most noticably the ability to reply to particular comments), and more features are on the way.  In store for the next couple of weeks:

  • More ways to share The System.
  • Ways for you to show your support (read: give me money and buy stuff).
  • More of the fun content that keeps you coming back.

Meanwhile, keep enjoying the site.  As stated above, comics will be posted until morale improves, and probably then some.

PS, can you name the comics referenced above?

Guest comics will be posted every day this week (November 17 – 21st) in preparation for the big event next week:  The System Comic #100.  You guys can expect the same inane blog posts in the meantime, and start getting ready for a few big surprises around here.

We are quickly closing the gap to comic #100 here at Rosscott, Inc.  So far the site has been a huge success!  It has brought together a lovely little community (If you comment at all frequently either to me in person or on the site, I’m looking at you) and I’m loving doing it.  So here come the part where I transision into what  I really want to say.

Keep an eye out for comic #100, because there will be some big news on the site when it hits.

And by the way, if you wanted to send some linkage my way and maybe some fan art, I wouldn’t complain. 🙂
