The System: Guest Comic by EatToast

Thanks to EatToast, who drew this and put it on my table at InterventionCon while I was home with that huge fever I mentioned. It’s been said by some that this comic pretty much sums up every System comic on the site. I’ll leave that to you the viewer to decide.

EatToast is an amazing artist who is also involved with Super Art Fight, where she dresses in this amazing costume and performs as an artist. Then afterwards she does hilarious post-game interviews (see video below).

Also, I posted a few interesting things over at my Tumblr account. I drew something cool and made two poster-looking things. You should go check them out here.

The System 531: Ergonomic Yearning

I’m back, and as you can tell, in good taste as always. It’s tempting to be put off by a 2-week break and feel the need to come back with something amazing. This thought crippled me for most of the day. Instead, I decided to just go for it. I do feel bad for this guy, I think we’ve all had moments like this. Sometimes the pen just won’t call you back. She could’ve at least written her number down, I mean, she’s a pen. Or maybe it’s a he. We don’t know.

Have you ever had a great moment with a gel grip pen or other stress relieving office product? This is a safe zone. You can share here.

Hi Systemics!

First off, my sincere apologies about the lack of updates in the last week. And by lack, I of course mean “any”.

Last Sunday I started to come down with a serious throat infection and high fever that toasted me pretty thoroughly. A sickness I’m still recovering from. While I’m well enough to sit up in bed, put on pants, speak a complete sentence and swallow water (all of which are wonderfully great new experiences lately), I’m definitely not at 100%. Not to mention that I’m behind on over a week of not being able to do anything with my day job, the comic, or anything else in my life.

This isn’t the end of anything, but it is going to take me a few days to get everything back on track, and in the meantime please bear with me. I wish I could say this was my day job and my first priority, but truth be told it isn’t. So any emails sent, orders requested, and new comics are going to take a few days to get to. I’m working on it as fast as I can, while trying to recover from being really sick.

Other comics people, if you have the time and send me a guest comic, I’ll gladly post them.

See you all in a few days,
Rosscott

The System 530: How long until the next bus?

This one is dedicated to NextBus, DC’s public transit system WMATA, and the 15% of all busses on the timetables that actually don’t exist when you go to wait for them.

Oh yeah! SPX is this weekend here in the DC area! The Small Press Expo is a pretty amazing show, and performing as part of the Ignatz Awards is none other than SUPER ART FIGHT. If you are going to SPX, be sure to come by the Ignatz Awards and stay for our show! Should be about 10pm and runs about an hour.

If seeing me make an idiot of myself in front of a bunch of comic industry professionals isn’t enough, the show itself is also really great. I always find something new to like at this show, and attend just to walk around every year (though it would be nice to have a table).

Next year. I hope.

The System 529: Days Off

I feel this way all the time. I call it “giving a shit”. Also, this is a pseudo-followup to this comic from Memorial Day a few years ago.

Meanwhile, the other day I made a quick poster and posted an image of it online. People wanted me to make it for sale, so I did! You can now buy it from the HilariAwesome.com store here. Or you can click the image below. If you’re not familiar with the source material, first read this and then watch this (that second one NSFW).
