Anyway, a couple important things! First of all, thanks to everyone visiting the site after SXSW. If I met you or you saw one of my talks or you picked up a card, say a quick hello in the comments. I’ll do more of a full writeup about the trip in a separate post that people who are sick of hearing about my trip can more easily ignore.

Seriously, how sick are you of #FutureWorldProblems right now? Not at all? GOOD. I figured we’d wrap up this week-and-a-half of guest comics with one more comic on topic from me, just to ease us back into our normal insanity. Thanks to Dern from Hello With Cheese, who was with me driving back from NJ when I wrote this, and contributed to it in the kind of back-and-forth writing I don’t normally get to do with other artists as much as I’d like.

Today’s comic is by Bill “All New Issues” Ellis. I caught a link to Bill’s stuff through Girls With Slingshots a couple months back, and have been reading ever since. All New Issues is the tale of comic book collectors, drinkers, and graphic designers. You can see why I might be on board with such a comic.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill (and seeing his cohort Danielle again) at Wild Pig Con 1 a couple months back and see them again at WPC2 a couple weeks ago. While their comic is only 40 pages in, it is off to a great start. Be sure to check it out here.

Today’s comic was done by the amazing Michael Lalonde of Orneryboy. I’ve been reading his stuff for years, it’s worth your time. I remember finding Orneryboy back in 2005, and loving the art style as being something very different than what I was used to seeing. I’ve been keeping up with it ever since. It’s the story of a boy named Ornery, his girlfriend Dirtygirl, and their pet zombie Brian and a pet cat all going through insane adventures. I’m pretty sure the whole thing is laid out in Flash because every once in a while pages are animated to give them some great effects. Like this. And this.

About a month ago, I tweeted something or other at Michael and he decided to check out The System, which apparently he liked a bunch and read through the archive. That was very cool of him. There’s nothing more satisfying than finding out that someone whose work you appreciate appreciates yours right back.

UPDATE: Ah, dernit! In my sleep deprivation and idiocy I forgot to mention that today’s comic, while drawn amazingly by Ami (mentioned below) was written in the car while Dern from “Hello With Cheese” and I were driving back from Wild Pig Con last weekend. We spent half the ride writing jokes for our own comics, each others, and generally being clever. Hello With Cheese is an amazing comic I talk more about below.

Today’s comic comes from Ami “Auilix” B of The Glass Urchin. Ami and her partner-in-drinking Bree have been around the East Coast convention scene for the last couple of years, though I can’t remember exactly when we first met. I do know that I was a fan of her comic long before, as it is adorable. It is autobiographical, though she depicts herself and all the other recurring characters as adorable animals living in a normal-people sized world. Trust me when I say it’s worth reading from the beginning, as the evolution of her art as well as her storytelling has been amazing to watch. Maybe some day I’ll do something interesting enough in her presence to get drawn into the comic, though I wouldn’t ask for it. She’s already complained about people doing that.

The most recent news is that due to excess submissions from artists (and a lack of complaints from you the readers,) #FutureWorldProblems will extend into next week! I love the all the submissions I’ve received so much I may put all these and any others I find on their own site, as I know Registered Weapon has already gotten in on the action on their own site, and rumor has it a few others are in the works. If more artists send me comics, I will find a way to post them. SOMEHOW.

UPDATE AGAIN: In addition to today’s comic featuring FWP, Obsidian and his cohort Dern have put together a FutureWorldProblems comic over at Hello With Cheese today, as well as O putting together one of his own over at Commissioned Comic. Thanks to O and Dern for the posts, taking the idea a step further, and for being some of the friendliest webcomic artists I know.

Today’s comes from webcomic pal and internet cohort Caldwell “Loldwell” Tanner of Loldwell.com. He’s blended The System and Loldwell together! Of course, you’ve probably seen his stuff before even if you haven’t seen it there, as he is also a full-time cartoonist for CollegeHumor.com. That’s right, he gets paid for this stuff, which is more than most of us can say. Of course it’s all warranted, his work is great.

Even if you’re not a huge CollegeHumor.com fan, you probably have seen some of his more famous comics before. The “what kind of artist are you?” comic is how I first found him (due to a link on Crooked Gremlins, thanks for posting that Carter). Caldwell was even nice enough to give me a poster of that one, which hangs right next to my desk. There’s also two of his “cycle comics” that I then based my “Cycle of Time Suck” comic on. I guess people love cycles.

Tomorrow we finish up guest comic #FutureWorldProblems week, but the hashtag is still going strong on The Twitters. If you post a good one there, I’ll retweet it out myself. If it’s the best thing ever, maybe I’ll do a comic about it.

Today’s FutureWorldProblem comes from James “In His Likeness” Hatton, a man of quick wit and an a fellow brother in the world of minimalist comics. His comic, In His Likeness, is an existential comedy featuring G-d, the Devil, Buddha, and other religious figures as the main characters. If you like The System but wished I’d stop making so many design jokes, you should check out IHL.

This past weekend I got to hang with Jamie at Wild Pig Con in Springfield, NJ. We spent most of Saturday night with some of our other cohorts sitting around a table trying to make up new #FutureWorldProblem ideas. He’s good at it.

Jamie was actually also the driving force behind the theme in the first place. It was an original post by Jamie on Twitter that made me write the first one, which then proceeded to make me write 10 more immediately. What was that first tweet of his?

Sure, #futureworldproblems had more of a ring to it than #stupidthefuture, but he’s definitely the g-dfather of the meme.

Today’s comes from Justin over at Lefthandedtoons.com. While I haven’t known him as extensively as Chris Impink, I can say that I’ve been a big fan of LHT for a while. My absolute favorite is this one about predicting the future. Connection to #FutureWorldProblems? QUITE POSSIBLY.

Fun fact: I myself am lefthanded, so I don’t really see what the fuss is about.
