I don’t know what to say about this, so I’ll ask a question: What is your favorite part?

The System Guest Comic: Double Whammy

We’ll be posting submissions sent in for the Jimmy the Murderdog fan art contest through the end of this week, focusing on the ones that were formatted in comics here in the main space.  We’ll also be posting them all together at the end of this week, so you guys can see the whole set of how awesome everyone is that sent things in.  To those of you who are new to the comic and looking for bathroom signs, I invite you to check out comics in the archive.

Today’s is an entry is actually TWO entries!  First up, in the comic area above, is comics from Systemic Doctor Taco (whom, as I understand, has no website to call his own).  He put together a few, one is posted above.  The rest will be posted this weekend, along with all the other entries.

The second of which is actually a video, courtesy of Systemics Christina and Kevin.  They put together a few of these, so I’ll be posting the rest in a segment I’m calling Murderdog Fridays for the next couple of weeks.  For now, here’s the first one.

UPDATE: I had to take it down due to bandwidth. I’ll be posting it on YouTube and it’ll be back up soon.

If you want more of these, let me know, and I’ll pass word onto Christina and Kevin.  Maybe they’ll oblige you and me.

I’m going to be posting 2 or 3 different recaps of Connecticon, because it would not all fit in one post unless that post was really really long.  Nobody wants that, so here we go.  This one is all about Saturday, between 5pm and 8:30pm.

First up was a little event known as Super Art Fight.  SAF has been a little project of mine and some local webcomics friends, and Connecticon was the biggest show yet.  Through some sheer cohones and conniving on our part, we managed to get some of the most amazing webcomic artists in the biz, which was also a great chance to get to know some amazing webcomic artists that I hadn’t otherwise gotten to know.  You can see all details in this post on the SAF site, and let us know if you have pics or video of the event.  Or just let us know if you were there or heard about it or whatever.

The second big event pretty much speaks for itself.  Check out this video of the beginning of the XKCD / Explosm.net panel which followed immediately after Super Art Fight.

That is part 1 of 8.  The rest is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.  The rest is pretty informative and hilarious, which involves me in a blue jacket, drinking “water” on stage, and telling a few people to shut the hell up.

Honestly, it was a little planned.  After I moderated their panel at Webcomics Weekend, the guys were nice enough to let me moderate this one as well.  Y’know, I thought I wrote about that experience on the site, but I never did.  I meant to, but got so distracted that I just linked to photos of it.  It was a great time for me and them the first time around, so we all did it again.

If you found the site through XKCD or Explosm in some way, write a comment.  For that matter, if you like the panel, post about it.

I’ve been meaning to post this video for about a week, but other posts got in the way. Anyway, from BoingBoing, here is the most badass thing you’ll see all day.

Btw I’m feeling slightly conflicted that the words “blow” and “face” will now show up on a search for my site, but I’ll deal with it.

UPDATE! Want TWO FREE TICKETS to the show?  See below!

I do not talk enough about Super Art Fight on my own website.  Let’s start with the basics.  Super Art Fight is a live event that is part graffiti art jam, part wrestling match, and part rock show.  If this doesn’t already entice you, I don’t think you’re a big fan of my comic.  Want more?  Here’s a video from a previous show (I’m the one in the amazingly blue jacket).

Do I have your attention now?  Good.  I know you’re thinking, when and how can I go to one of these amazing looking shows? The answer is THURSDAY.  That’s right, the night before Otakon, you can attend Super Art Fight 4 at The Ottobar, this Thursday night.

Buy tickets ($10 each)?  Here.

More info?  Here.

More videos?  Here.

Can’t make it but still jazzed about the whole thing?  The artists draw exclusively from suggestions that are given by the audience both in person and online.  You can submit ideas for things to draw on the “big submission post” right here. We’ll be posting vids and pics afterwards, so you’ll see how it turns out.

Oh, and here’s one more video of Nick pimping out the show.

So you’ve made it this far, and you are wondering about the free tickets? It’s simple! Email me (systemcomic at gmail) with:

  • Post TWO Art Fight suggestions as mentioned above, as well as mentioned here (but email them to me, like I just said).
  • A link to your favorite The System comic
  • Subject line: SUPER ART FIGHT

That’s it! Then you’re entered to win. Winners chosen Wednesday night.  Email me / comment on this post with questions.
