How should I get to work? Now on Medium.com

Keep reading at Medium.com »
About a month ago I was talking with Jason “I Love Charts” Charts and he invited me to join his collective over at Medium.com. What that means is every Wednesday I will post a chart to Medium.com, and then a week later I can post it wherever else that I want (such as here on my own site). Since I make a fair number of charts anyway, seemed like a win-win situation.
The first of these posts (the above is just the first part) is now up at Medium for you to read. Or, if you’re feeling lazy or don’t like Medium, it’ll be up here in a week. Just know clicking the link and reading the comic actually gets me paid for my work, so I’d much appreciate the click-through.

New comic on Friday! Hooray!
The System 707: The Sweatshirt Problem

I’ve got real problems. Systemics, are you with me on this one?
Oh, and if you like this one you’d probably like The Cycle of Time Suck.
The Top 6 Reasons This Infographic Is Just Wrong Enough to Sound Convincing

A little back story:
Zach “Zach Weinersmith” Weiner was looking for someone to help make his idea for this infographic a reality, and I was lucky enough to fit the bill thanks to some work I’d done with College Humor and, yknow, charts. So to be clear, Zach wrote this start to finish, and I did the design work to make it look awesome and real and stuff.
It went up on SMBC Comics earlier this week, and since has showed up on Slate! Oh, and Ezra “BAMF” Klein tweeted:
6 reasons this infographic is wrong, in one infographic: http://t.co/DGwyHiO6HE

Of course if you’d like to buy this chart as a poster, you should click here and make your dreams a reality.
So if you make webcomics and want to make a chart together, apparently you should talk to me.

The System 667: On Getting Shit Done

There is a magical point where having more to do makes you more productive. But there’s also a point where you just give up. This is also known as the “Tetris principle”.
Kickstarter Off To A Great Start
We are well on our way with the Kickstarter to support the printing of comics 1-200 of The System into a book, and have started to announce some great stretch goals to help keep things moving. The larger the amount we raise, the better the stretch goals!
You can check out all the stretch goals, all the rewards, and a hilarious outtakes video of me trying to record the “explanation video”, all right here.

The System 663: How To Name Your Pacific Rim Jaeger

This weekend, I saw Pacific Rim. It was amazing. Can you tell?
My Jaeger is named Intense Edison, and his special power is the Plasma Calf. What’s yours? Post it in the comments or tweet it with #PacificRimJaegerNames
Special thanks to Systemic Allison who helped me come up with the idea for this comic!
Want comics like these in a book?
I’m doing a Kickstarter of my comics! Click on the book cover below to find out more about the Kickstarter project.

Anime Expo This Weekend
I’m heading to Anime Expo in Los Angeles with the Super Art Fight gang! In addition to having a table space to sell comics and shirts (I’ll be tweeting out where once we arrive from @Rosscott and @SystemComic), we’ll be having two shows as part of the convention:
On Friday Night, July 5th, from 10:30pm-12:00am in Live Programming 2, we’ll be bringing you Super Art Fight UNLEASHED! If you’ve never seen us…well, this will be a unique introduction, as an UNLEASHED event allows our artists to indulge their sickest, darkest, most surreal and most horrifying artistic urges. It goes without saying, but this event is 18+ Only, and absolutely no photography or videos are allowed. Period.
That’s just a warm up for the main event, however, as on Saturday Night, July 6th, from 6:30pm-8:30pm we bring a proper Super Art Fight event to the Live Programming 2 stage. This is what put us on the map, this is what has allowed us to go nationwide, and we have a fantastic card lined up for you.
Ridiculously Detailed Arrested Development Chart
The title pretty much says it all, but look how thoroughly detailed this thing is:
Use it as reference throughout the new season (which is all on Netflix now). I’m a few episodes in and love it, but feel free to use the comments for this post to tell me and others your thoughts. I’ll be arguing with anyone that doesn’t think it’s awesome. COME AT ME, BROTHER.

How to Be Interesting (in 10 Simple Steps)
Amazing chart-artist (chartist?) Jessica Hagy, who has previously done guest comics for The System, has come out with a new book with Workman Publishing called How To Be Interesting (In 10 Simple Steps). If you’ve ever read her blog This Is Indexed, this book is everything you love about her comic (“written as the coffee brews”) but with the time and thought given to give her thoughts time to mature into bigger ideas. There’s even a tumblr with some highlights (http://how2beinteresting.tumblr.com/) that you can follow to see some of the highlights.
No, I haven’t read the book yet, but I don’t have to in order to know it’s going to be good. Jessica is a very smart cookie, and you should buy her book because you’re gonna like it.
The System 627: Procrasturbating

This comic, co-written by my mom (Rossmom) in the comments of The System 626. You can see where I get “it” from.
And I’m just gonna leave this here…

The Last Motivational Poster You’ll Ever Need

Last night, as we were in our weekly Super Art Fight staff meeting, we struck gold. You see, for years Jamie Noguchi (also on wikipedia) has been giving the same advice to everyone. It’s the advice that helped me to start this comic, helped us to start Super Art Fight, and has generally helped a lot of people get things done. That advice, in it’s purest form, is this:
Fuckin’ do it.
So, armed with Adobe Illustrator and 5 minutes, I set out to do Jamie proud and created the Jamie Noguchi System (™). The outcry for a poster available was immediate, and who was I to say no? So, taking the JNS to heart, I submitted it to the HilariAwesome.com store. Now you too can get things done the Jamie Noguchi way.
I encourage all of you to stop what you’re doing now and start doing what you need to fucking do already. Then do it.*
“I wasn’t getting anything done. Now I am.”
—Ross from DC“With the FUCKIN DO IT system, I’ve gained 30 pounds, incurred thousands of dollars of crippling debt, and my family refuses to look me in the eye, but I can finally say, without a doubt – I did it!“
—Marty from Baltimore“I used to just sit around thinking about if I should do it. I’d spend days thinking about it. It was damn near crippling. Then Jamie came along and gave me the strength I need. Thanks to the Jamie Noguchi System now I FUCKIN’ DO IT!”
—Brandon from Baltimore“The Jamie Noguchi System™ helped me self publish my first print collection! thanks Hilariawesome!”
—Lee from Indianapolis“I met a girl once…”
